Sangiovese
Garnet red color and a powerful nose makes you think pleasantly, What was that? The aromatics of spiked fruit compote builds in the nose. Strawberries, a touch of oak, and the slight heat makes this a big Tuscan; not your straw covered lunch wine. Fruit dominates the palate as well. This is a dry wine capable of 5 years or more additional bottle age.
15.0% ALC. BY VOL. - 750 ML Price: $26 per bottle
More Grape Information: A Sangiovese wine was composed of 27 pails of Sangiovese from the Chalk Hill region. This 2004 Sangiovese was a little high in acid and sugar at harvest. Four pails of Carneros Merlot and 3 pails of Russian River Cabernet Franc were added to balance the wine and add some depth.
